A Timelessly Elegant + Romantic French Wedding

Not only may be the quaint French town bewitching, everything relating to this elegant and refined wedding has captured my heart; herbs and botanicals, al fresco dining along with a sumptuous gown.

Stephanie and Nicholas traveled to Saint Antonin Noble Val, France for his and her marriage on 28 July.

"I wanted something classic, clean and unadorned but nonetheless soft and lightweight. I was extremely keen to locate a dress with a British designer. I walked into the shop, gave the vaguest direction (no lace, sweetheart neckline, light fabric), and was given the dress; a boned corset bodice, soft sweetheart neckline having a full, silk organza, A-line skirt. It was ethereal and classic all at one time."

The fine, delicately-embroidered veil was her mum's, and Stephanie added gilt heels and her mum's aquamarine and gold teardrop ring. Her long blonde hair was styled right into a romantic, tumbling style and caught back from her face.

The bride was taken with the ancient, narrow streets towards the château inside a quintessentially French car.

"We desired to celebrate outdoors and also the château had lots of different spaces to host different parts of your day – from the ceremony around the steps to dinner underneath the stars. When we first entered the gates, the sun's rays were dappled through oak trees within the courtyard, and we could easily imagine all of our loved ones sipping drinks and resting close to the fountains."

For her bridesmaids, Stephanie selected dusty blue bridesmaid dresses which they wore with nude heels whilst the small bridesmaid wore a whimsical flower crown together with her pretty white dress.

"I bought all of the girls gold flower stud earrings."

The couple met at Manchester University but didn’t meet up straight away.

"We knew of one another but weren't particularly close. The first recognition that we've got on well wasn't until Nick left for South America for 6 months and I left for Melbourne. We had common ground once we were both around the edge of a journey. We lost touch for a year until both of us moved to London. We naturally gravitated towards one another, helped by mutual friends."

The ceremony was held within the château's beautiful gardens, dressed with rustic wooden chairs, posies of flowers along with a romantic floral arch filled with tulle drapery. It was led by Diane Smith and before the bride and her father arrived, Nick walked down the aisle together with his mum.

The ceremony led seamlessly in towards the al fresco drinks reception and dinner. The couple put a lot of effort directly into dressing the gardens, creating different areas for that guests to relax and play. The overall look seems so organic, complementing the venue’s natural splendor.

As night fell, the courtyard was transformed right into a magical dance floor, lit by fairy lights and candles. Nina Simone's classic 'Feeling Good' was the newlywed's first dance song underneath the stars.

I must share the pair's gorgeous, personal idea for wedding gifts.

"We both like to read therefore we asked each guest for a copy of the favorite book having a little note inside. We have quite the library to obtain through consequently. I think people really enjoyed considering what they'd choose without worrying about the expense. It's so interesting to determine what people love reading!"

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Think using your time schedule out of your guest's perspective. As boring as it sounds I was absolutely regimented and was a lot more relaxed correctly. We didn't want people holding out, getting hot, thirsty, hungry, or bored. Knowing everybody was content was a lot more relaxing and enjoyable for all of us."
